AITE is celebrating the Diwali festival on October 15, 16, 19 and 20.
Diwali is the Hindu festival of lights. Light is seen as a symbol of hope and positive energy and indicates the victory of good over evil. Diwali is marked by four days of celebration with each day having a distinct tradition. The constant is the celebration of life, joy and goodness. Hindu's consider Diwali to be the beginning of winter and give it the same importance as Christians give Christmas.
We are acknowledging the festival with a candle arrangement at reception and an offering of Indian sweets to students at lunch-time in the common areas.
There will also be a mural for students to post Diwali messages on in the common area of level 5.
