AITE Supporting White Balloon Day
Australian Institute of Technology & Education (AITE) is supporting 'White Balloon Day' to raise awareness of child sexual assault in Australia.

The white balloon has been adopted by Bravehearts as symbolic of the issue of child sexual assault.

On Tuesday 8 September, white balloons will be displayed around the AITE campus and staff and students will be invited to wear white. Staff and students will also be invited to make a gold coin donation towards the cause at a morning tea event where we will gather to discuss this cause.

Bravehearts is Australia’s only children’s charity holistically dedicated to the issue of child sexual assault. They offer comprehensive counselling and education for children and young people plus parental support for non-offending family members along with advocacy for adult survivors. Bravehearts also invests in extensive training and research developing strategies better able to combat the complex issues associated with child sexual assault. Founded in 1997 by Executive Director Hetty Johnston, Bravehearts aims to forge a “movement for change” in how paedophilia is dealt with by the criminal justice sector, government and the community at large and to provide survivors with a voice.

You can make a donation to Bravehearts Inc, in support of White Balloon Day, through the Australian Institute of Technology & Education fundraising page at

Show your support and help give a voice to those affected by child sexual assault. Together we can “break the silence” and make Australia safer for our children.
