AIWCW extends implementation date of English language requirement
On Monday the 10th August 2009, a number of providers (RTOs) and ACPET met with the National President of AIWCW along with other executive members of AIWCW, to express major concerns related to the implementation of the Welfare Work English Language Requirement.
An immediate extension on the 30 September 2009 implementation date was requested, along with a review study to determine appropriate English language requirements.
At this stage, the AIWCW has determined that the implementation date will be amended to 1 February 2010. This is intended to minimise the impact on students completing their two years of study during 2009.
None of the other English language requirements have been changed to date.
